- I'm such an old school conservative republican, that I'm now Green as the GOP bares no resemblance to what I was taught, and the Green party, well, it pretty much walks the talk I was taught to walk.
The future doesn't look like any of the pictures below to me (save the one on a personal level), but for me I think it looks more like perhaps a collection of several bits of all of them. I see us transitioning out of the greed-based capitalism we have been focused on, to a new form of existence within a local setting having a real and true global community based on the grassroots of the community.
I see our positive development continuing forward with wealth equalized -- not reduced or hoarded, creating a new system for a balanced approach to population, resources and opportunities.
I do believe we are (may have to continue at even more intense levels) experiencing many of the "transitional" scenarios, but I pretty much think we are already experiencing a lot of those things and are working past them now. Does it have to get darker to the actual full-blown nuclear war, Mad Max or FEMA encampments? I believe not, which is why I'm a Green today.

- Everyone gets along and basic necessities are worked out in neighborhood villages. Necessity becomes the mother of invention. Life gets very local. People relax. Stop running around. Spend more time talking to neighbors in the streets and walking their dogs together.
- Why are you joining WaGreens?
- because the Green party needs to grow, and you folks up North set up this lovely site for us to share information and events. I hope to bring some So. Nevada presence to it, so together we can grow our Nevada Green candidates wherever they have sown their seeds of change.

ACTION: Political Balance -- Nevada's Sovereignty

NDE Activist Arrested at Creech Airforce Base, Nevada
As part of its Sacred Peace Walk, yesterday (April 9, 2009), 14 activists with the Nevada Desert Experience were arrested at Creech Airforce Base, Indian Springs, Nevada. Nevada Desert Experience, an interfaith peace group, is protesting the "remote controlled drone wars" that are being developed at Creech. (For more information, see CNN's story on the drones.)

Summit of the Americas
Well, in less than 2 weeks now the political and economic "leaders" of the western hemisphere will be meeting to discuss how to best "Secure our Citizen's Future" in the 5th Summit of the Americas. http://fifthsummitoftheamericas.org/home/
This series of summits started under G.H.W. Bush. It was revamped under Clinton as the backwash from NAFTA and FTAA came strong and hard, but the hemispheric agenda is still moving forward more focused than ever.
