- Everyone gets along and basic necessities are worked out in neighborhood villages. Necessity becomes the mother of invention. Life gets very local. People relax. Stop running around. Spend more time talking to neighbors in the streets and walking their dogs together.

I'm almost vegan except for non-fat organic yogurt which I eat every day (Strauss'), Nordic natural fish oil which I take once a week or so, sardines which I eat together with Brooks and Dakota almost daily, and.....
EGGS! And now I can't go back to even the Whole Foods brand organic eggs. Just ain't the same. K, were these fertilized? Man they are good. Mom had the flu and after fixing her some to settle her stomach she was all cured! Seriously.

I keep sending stuff to the Gazette and the RN&R about this silliness.
I think maybe we should convince them that a nice value-enhancing (?) neighborhood Nuke power plant would give them what they need without the silly inconvenience of turbines on skylines, or spining blades to confuse them -- or to lower their housing values -- or FREE energy. They could paint it nice cheery colors if they like and all congratulate themselves on keeping out those nasty mills.
I'm on a PIMBY campaign, which means Put It in My Backyard....

- I've been through that disappointment once before and I won't put up with it again.
I think our Green Dream is coming true and not a bit too late. After the setbacks for a solution to global warming through the Clinton years, many of us were despondent. We knew the window of reversal was closing on our fingers rapidly. By the late 90s we thought all was lost. But then a feeling began to emerge and pervade the Green Party and movement: no worries: in the future everyone would have to adopt our platform just for survival. And we see that hedging our way. Even though he's a democrat we have the first green president and not a moment too soon, though I fear 20 years too late...

I'm a bit confused. You say you are not regged with the Green Party but you have been with us for 1 year. I hope that means you are a Green, but if not, no worries. All are welcome here. We just think EVERYONE should jump on board the party of peace, equality, and civil and environmental justice: the sooner the better!
